14th Swiss US-RR Convention  (1/7)

October 10/11th, 2009

Adliswil (Zurich)

This year’s Convention of American Railroadfans in Switzerland is being held in Adliswil, very close to Zurich. The Convention is repeated every three years in this suburb of the main town and is visited by some thousand visitors (about 3,300 people from all around in Europe attended the 13th Convention, and a farther increase is expected this year too).

This year’s Convention is located at the Schoolhouse Kronenwiese and fills three large buildings, hosting operating layouts, dioramas, modules, models, and accessories in all scales. Side activities include workshops, slide- and movie-shows, bookstores, and booths by the most renown RR-shops in the US-scene in Switzerland.

A PDF Guide providing a comprehensive description of the Convention (in German) is available, with photos and useful information.

While looking all around, I’ve snapped my own pictures, fixing as many flashes as I could, as I was really impressed by the rich variety of beautiful things on display, far beyond my most optimistic expectations.
